We all probably knew her first from the Growing Up series back in the late 90s. Fast forward to 2020, we had the pleasure of servicing her 2014 MacBook Air!
We were informed that her device was/had:
Overheating
Lagging
Poor Battery Life
Overheating
Common issue for devices that are over 1-2 years old, especially if you frequently use heavy applications (like video editing software). The primary suspect will be a dried out CPU Thermal Paste and so we reapplied it for her! We strongly recommend anyone with overheating issues to get it rectified quickly or it will eventually take a toll on you motherboard. A temporary solution would be to use an external cooling fan – Cooler Master brand recommended!
Lagging
Upon doing the necessary checks, we discovered corrupted sections of the HSS, which required an OS reinstallation. We promptly backed up her data, restored her device to factory condition and carried out maintenance to help prevent future issues.

Poor Battery Life
We also discovered that in fact there was no issues with the battery itself but rather, the corrupted HDD resulted in higher-than-usual battery usage.
We wrapped up her device functioning as good as new!
