If you’ve read articles on successful blogger mums, then you probably have read of Diah!
With almost 53,000 followers on her Instagram (@etrangle), she’s a full-time influencer/blogger and mother of five. Queen of multitasking or what!
Diah had an iMac that couldn’t boot to the home screen. Unsure of who to go to for the repair, she had actually left the device in that state for over a year!
It all started when Diah posted an Instagram story asking what she should do with her damaged 21.5″ iMac 2011. A few of her followers then replied and recommended us to her for the repair!
Post collection, we actually identified that it was Operating System (OS) issue and so we worked on it (and more) with the 4 steps below!
Step 1: Data Extraction!
We first port out all of her existing data for retransfer after the OS Installation. Time taken really depends on the amount of corrupted data/file size.
Step 2: TURBOCHARGE!
We installed a 120GB SSD onto her iMac, of which her OS will run on. What happens then to her original Hard Disk Drive (HDD)? – It becomes a secondary storage drive that takes place of the CD drive. We also upgraded her RAM to an 8 GB 1600MHz DDR3. Bam! Lightning-fast.
Step 3: OS REINSTALLATION!
Don’t underestimate how effective this is in improving the performance of your device. There’s a lot of back-end files that are just lying around in your system while significantly slowing down your system with you knowing. Now the OS runs on the SSD. We strongly recommend keeping all your other files in the secondary HDD. 🙂
Step 4: DATA TRANSFER!
Here we return back her backed up files back into her system.
And that’s it! 9-year-old iMac running good as new. She then also sent us her 3 old laptops which are running slowly! We did an OS reinstallation on all 3 to remove all unnecessary data and they were all ready for her children to use.
Enjoy your newly serviced devices and thanks again for reaching out Diah!
